The Mirabeau park
The Mirabeau park
Nearby the Boulevard Heurteloup, this park is the ancient cemetery ‘Saint-Jean-des-Coups’ closed after the flood of 1856 ; from this time, this park is still keeping the chestnut trees path. In 1891, Louis Ernest Madelin, chief-gardener of the ‘jardin botanique’ made up this park. Several statues decorate this garden. A statue entitled ‘les mystères douloureux’ (the painful mysteries) was realized in 1905 by the sculptor Alaphilippe, winner of Rome’s prize.
In the 1960’s, the garden was reduced by the building of the school. Nevertheless, some beautiful trees still remain (magnolia tree, lime tree…).

This park is opened daily :
January, February, November and December : 7.45 am to 5.30 pm.
March, April, May and October : 7.45 am to 7 pm.
June, July, August and September : 7.45 am to 10 pm.
