While Athens and Sparta are at war, Lysistrata, a beautiful Athenian woman as cunning as she is astute, convinces the women of Athens, Calonice, Myrrhine and Lampito, as well as those of all the Greek cities, to start and continue a war of sex until the men come to their senses and stop fighting.
