The city of Tours was founded in the 1st century on the left bank of the Loire. In the Middle Ages, two distinct areas developed: one built around the Cathedral, the other around a huge collegiate church dedicated to Saint Martin, the Châteauneuf area, also known as Old Tours. Tours was the royal capital from 1440 to 1520, and at the end of the Middle Ages and beginning of the Renaissance, almost all of the city's residences were rebuilt. From this flourishing period, the town inherited a homogeneous collection of old houses and religious buildings, which you can discover on this tour. This tour has been awarded the Ville d'Art et d'Histoire label.

Your program: Departure from Tours, 13 km bike ride on the Loire River (1h00) to Montlouis-sur-Loire: follow the banks of the Loire on a bike path accessible to the whole family. A visit and wine tasting awaits you in Montlouis sur Loire (1h00). Discover the land and the history of the wines of Montlouis-sur-Loire. You can picnic at the canoe base in Vouvray, but you'll need to bring your own picnic as there are no refreshment points on site. You will exchange your bikes for canoes at our base in Vouvray and return in Tours by the Loire (up to the Wilson Bridge guinguette or the wire bridge, depending on the water level). You will travel approximately 7 km among the birds of the Loire (1½ to 2 hours) aboard unsinkable, self-bailing canoes.
