Practical informations

Safety instructions must be followed when embarking on the Loire: 

  • Know how to swim;
  • The minimum age required is over 6 years;
  • You must wear a life jacket;
  • Water shoes or closed shoes are mandatory;
  • Canoe / paddle / lifejacket / waterproof canteen provided;
  • Minibus transport included;
  • It is imperative to return before the site close;
  • Respect for nature: no littering in the water or on the banks;
  • It is forbidden to ride on the "toues" (Loire boats);
  • It is strictly forbidden to disembark on the protected islands (to preserve the species of terns that nest there), punishable by fine.

To know before swimming:
The Loire is a wild river with different currents, more or less dangerous, so you need to be careful: don't disembark where there are dams or bridges. Some currents are lethal! Stay alert.
