Near the Château d'Amboise, the Clos Lucé features more than forty models of fabulous machines designed by the Florentine genius Leonardo da Vinci. Some of them—which visitors can handle—are reproduced in full scale in the park: the aerial screw, the assault chariot, the movable bridge… The site offers a free booklet titled “The Inventor’s Notebook: ‘But Where Does Leonardo Get His Brilliant Ideas?’” as well as dramatized guided tours for children ages 7 and up with “Mathurine” during school breaks, offering a fun way to explore the Clos Lucé.
The house, its park - a veritable open-air museum - and the Leonardo da Vinci Painter and Architect Galleries invite you to discover the many facets of this genius through his restored workshops, models of his inventions and an immersive show presenting his 17 masterpieces...
