3 days / 2 nights, visiting 4 to 6 châteaux - From €258
Experience an extraordinary Christmas in the heart of the Loire Valley châteaux and enjoy three days of wonder and enchantment! From November 28, 2026, to January 3, 2027, seven of Touraine’s most prestigious châteaux celebrate the holiday spirit with exceptional tour routes, magnificent decorations, and unique activities. It’s "Christmas in the land of châteaux"!
To make the most of the event, treat yourself to an all-inclusive package that includes admission tickets to 4-6 châteaux (pass selection available during booking), overnight stays at a 3-star hotel in Tours (with breakfast and dinner included), and a tasting of mulled wine and crêpes at the Tours Christmas market.
What’s in store at the châteaux:
This year, Chenonceau pays tribute to the spirit and traditions of Christmas—those of our childhood and those of our dreams—entirely reimagined through the eyes of scenographer and *Meilleur Ouvrier de France* (M.O.F.) Jean-François Boucher and his team from the château’s Floral Workshop. They are reinventing Christmas customs not only from France but also from Great Britain, Germany, the Americas, Japan, Iceland, and beyond—a nod to the visitors who travel here from all over the world!
The Grand Gallery spanning the river transforms into a Viennese ballroom, while the incredible kitchens—located within the bridge piers—are divided between India (with its colors and aromatic spices), Provence (featuring its "Thirteen Desserts"), and Alsace. It is a unique world that changes every year, always distinguished by talented floral and botanical creations.
Taking advantage of the Court’s temporary absence, the many animals living at the Château d’Amboise have decided to secretly organize their own Christmas festivities within the royal residence. Each has contributed ingeniously to the decorations according to their own abilities and unique talents. Alongside Queen Anne’s multicolored birds, wild beasts, a baby giraffe, and an ostrich mingle with deer, birds of prey, and mischievous small rodents amidst these joyful preparations. As curious guests, visitors to the château are invited this year to mingle and take part in a Christmas celebration unlike any other!
For this new edition of "Christmas in the Land of Châteaux," the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau places gastronomy at the heart of its program. Each room in the monument is paired with a signature holiday delicacy, showcased within refined, immersive, and sometimes animated settings. Through this unique tour, visitors discover the world of Christmas preparations and the craftsmanship that shapes grand holiday feasts. The scenography pays tribute to the artisans of taste and the chefs whose passion, exacting standards, and creativity turn Christmas meals into unique moments of conviviality and wonder. The château thus becomes the setting for a gourmet celebration where heritage and the art of living come together.
The Château de Langeais invites you to experience a Christmas filled with poetry. From room to room, Christmas carols and music echo amidst decorations created entirely by artists from the Touraine region. Light, greenery, textiles, paper, and sound combine in an immersive composition—featuring a delicate, contemporary narrative—that engages in a dialogue with the site’s collections, architectural spaces, and historic materials. Up in the attic, an enchanted forest brings this magical journey to a close. Younger visitors can extend the adventure with a Christmas carol-themed activity booklet designed to accompany them as they explore the château.
Enter without fear… and let yourself be guided by the magic of the fairy tale. As part of the "Christmas in the Land of Châteaux" event, the Royal City of Loches invites visitors to immerse themselves in the timeless tale of *Beauty and the Beast*—first published in 1740 by Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve and later popularized in 1756 by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont. From the entrance of the Royal Lodgings, every space transforms into a living scene from the story, brought to life by snow, red roses, elaborate décor, and lighting effects. A snow-dusted staircase, Belle’s bedroom, an enchanting banquet, and a magical finale create an immersive journey blending poetry, emotion, and wonder—a unique sensory experience within an exceptional monument.
This winter, nature takes center stage at the Château de Villandry. Once the doors close, plants and animals take over every room, creating an atmosphere that shifts between woodland and snowy landscapes—yet remains consistently warm and welcoming. This year, however, the forest inhabitants have set themselves a major challenge: creating their own (magical) Christmas vegetable garden, directly inspired by Villandry’s famous one! Naturally, there will be vegetables, but plenty of other surprises await as well…
